Siegel, O’Connor, O’Donnell & Beck, P.C. actively participates in and supports a multitude of community initiatives throughout the state.  In addition, individual attorneys in the Firm serve on a variety of boards of nonprofit and civic organizations.  A sampling of our Firm’s community involvement is listed below.

 

Brain Injury Association of Connecticut

 

Tee sponsor of the annual golf tournament, supporting BIAC efforts to provide people with brain injuries with a toll-free helpline, safety presentations in schools and health fairs, encouragement through a statewide support group network, and education and training for professionals working in the field of brain injury. 

 

Community One

 

The Firm supports the Community One fund, initiated by the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven to create a permanent funding source to help local agencies such as Camp Laurelwood, Ezra Academy, Jewish Family Service, Jewish Home for the Aged, Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy, and Tower One/Tower East to meet their ongoing financial needs.

Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra

Interval House

 

The Firm has supported the Interval House in a variety of ways through contributions and sponsorships.  In April 2005, we sponsored "A Night at the Copacabana" at the Goodwin Hotel in downtown Hartford.  In October 2005, we were a community patron for "Domestic Violence is not a Laughing Matter..." featuring Gina Barreca.  In April 2006, we sponsored the annual Internal House Gala, "Bandstack is Back"; in 2007, "STEP OUT!"; and in 2008, "Fire & Ice."  In 2009, we will once again sponsor the annual Gala, "Gastronomica!".  All proceeds for these events support the domestic violence prevention and intervention services of Interval House in the Greater Hartford region.  For more information, please visit www.intervalhousect.org.

Mercy Housing & Shelter

The Bridge Family Center 

The Firm has been a Silver Sponsor of the Mayor's Charity Ball for several years.  This organization provides vital services and support for children, youth and families in the greater Hartford area communities.  In 2009, we sponsored the Children's Charity Ball. 

Read to Grow, INC.

As part of the Association of Legal Administrators Nutmeg Chapter, the Firm collected books for Read to Grow, INC.  The books were distributed to children in hospitals, healt care clinics, child care centers, schools and library programs across the state. 

Support Our Troops

The Firm participates in collecting, donating and sending care packages and cards to our service men and women serving in war zones to show our appreciation for their sacrifices to keep us safe.

Women in Law Futures Task Force

The Firm is pleased to be a silver sponsor of the Connecticut Bar Association Women in Law Futures Task Force.   Associate Attorney Meredith G. Diette, resident in the Firm's New London office, is a member of this initiative.  Their work was showcased at a symposium of May 15, 2008, at the Quinnipiac University School of Law entitled, "Why Women Walk:  The Female Brain Drain from the Profession and How to Stop It."
