Members of our Firm have held important leadership positions in professional organizations. The Firm’s Managing Partner was elected recently to the Connecticut Restaurant Association’s Board of Directors. He has served as labor and employment counsel to the Connecticut Restaurant Association, the Connecticut Lodging Association, and the Connecticut Tooling & Machining Association for many years, providing training, practical advice, and legal expertise to these memberships on a wide variety of labor and employment law matters. Because of the extensive skill and experience of our attorneys, the Firm has been retained by employer organizations in a number of difficult and high-visibility circumstances. Most recently, we were retained to defend a class action lawsuit involving one of the hottest issues in the restaurant industry today -- when a tip credit is available for service work. We serve as labor and employment counsel for the State Judicial Department, and we have served as negotiator for the State in statewide pension negotiations. We have also been retained by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association to file amicus curiae briefs on its behalf in a number of cases involving issues of substantial significance to employers.
