Siegel, O'Connor, O'Donnell & Beck, P.C. is a Connecticut-based law firm with national recognition in the practice specialty of labor and employment law.  Our firm is dedicated exclusively to the representation of employers in the complex dynamic of labor and employment law matters in the workplace.  

We have counseled private and public sector management clients on labor and employment issues for over 45 years.  Because of our extensive involvement in the representation of clients in labor and employment law, our Firm is able to provide its clients with unmatched experience, focus and depth that results in excellent and cost-effective legal service, strategy, and solutions.

We are proud of the professional accomplishments and recognition of the Firm and our attorneys.  Our Firm is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Register of Preeminent Lawyers for Labor and Employment law, and has been named by Hartford Magazine as one of the top law firms in Connecticut.  Several of our attorneys have been selected as Connecticut Super Lawyers, and several have also been listed repeatedly in such publications as Best Lawyers in America and Who's Who Legal USA:  Management Labour & Employment 2006.  Many of our attorneys hold advanced degrees, and several have served as clerks to federal judges, state judges or as Assistant United States Attorneys.  Some of our attorneys have been appointed by the Governor to the Teacher Arbitration Panel and legislative study committees, and have been appointed as Special Masters by Federal Judges in Connecticut.  Others have been selected to teach as adjunct professors at area law schools and colleges.  One of our partners is a member of the Federal District Court's Magistrate Selection Committee, and recently has been named one of the Top Lawyers in Connecticut in the Labor and Employment Law area by Connecticut Magazine and Hartford Magazine. 

Members of our Firm have held important leadership positions in professional organizations.  The Firm’s Managing Partner was elected recently to the Connecticut Restaurant Association’s Board of Directors.  He has served as labor and employment counsel to the Connecticut Restaurant Association, the Connecticut Lodging Association, and the Connecticut Tooling & Machining Association for many years, providing training, practical advice, and legal expertise to these memberships on a wide variety of labor and employment law matters.  Two of our partners have served as Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and one of our partners has served as Chairperson of the Labor and Employment Section of the American Bar Association, the first Connecticut lawyer to hold this position.  Another partner is the Associate Editor of The Developing Labor Law, Fourth Edition (2001), a treatise on labor law matters published by the Bureau of National Affairs for the American Bar Association.      

Because of the extensive skill and experience of our attorneys, the Firm has been retained by employer organizations in a number of difficult and high-visibility circumstances.  Most recently, we were retained to defend a class action lawsuit involving one of the hottest issues in the restaurant industry today -- when a tip credit is available for service work.  We serve as labor and employment counsel for the State Judicial Department, and we have served as negotiator for the State in statewide pension negotiations.  We have also been retained by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association to file amicus curiae briefs on its behalf in a number of cases involving issues of substantial significance to employers.
