The question often arises whether computer professionals are exempt from payment of overtime under federal law.

The following provisions under the Fair Labor Standards Act must be followed in order to make the proper determination with respect to each computer-related position. First, the employee has to be paid at least $27.63 per hour. Second, the primary job duties must include:
